Fragsters have sealed passage to DreamHack Open Valencia with a 2-0 victory over Tempo Storm (16-5 on Dust2, 16-9 on Train).
Tempo Storm, who came from the open qualifier, had assured themselves of a place in the final match after defeating Imperial and ENCE, both by tight 2-1 scorelines, with Ricardo "fox" Pacheco leading the way for the newly-formed team with 67 and 80 kills, respectively.
As for Fragsters, one of the four invitees of the closed qualifier, they made it into the grand final following 2-0 victories over Nexus and Valiance, with the latter being a hard-fought series that saw Jacob "dragonfly" Lund top the scoreboard with a 1.41 rating and +18 KDD.
But it was dragonfly's 16-year-old brother, Martin "stavn" Lund, who had a breathtaking performance on the first map of the final, Dust2, with a 2.13 rating to help his team crush Tempo Storm, 16-5, and take the lead in the series.
Starting out as CTs on Fragsters' map pick, Train, Tempo Storm saw their opponents string five rounds together to take control of proceedings. Kevin "HS" Tarn's team still responded with a six-round winning streak, but the Danes were far too hot to handle and lost only three more rounds to wrap things up, 16-9, and book their place in Valencia.
